Yes it’s true – the current USA Green Card Lottery submission period is open, and it ends at 12:00PM Noon Eastern Standard Time (New York time) on Tuesday November 5th, 2024.
Please note this important correction in the requirements –
YOU DO NOT NEED A VALID PASSPORT
TO ENTER THIS 2026 GREEN CARD LOTTERY!
Our apologies for any confusion, but the passport requirement was a previous rule which has been removed from the requirements.
So, if you can meet the two basic requirements for –
a) the country you were born in, and
b) the education and/or work experience requirements,
then you can enter!

Your entry form for the Lottery (also known as the Diversity Visa Lottery) can only be submitted during the approximately 30 day open application period, which happens once per year.

➡️ Read the detailed instructions for more information on the criteria you need to have, in order to qualify. MAKE SURE YOU QUALIFY, BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION.
➡️ Remember, the US State Department does not charge any fee to enter the Green card Lottery using their online application website, so do not believe anyone or any company if they tell you anything different. The only costs you might need to pay for, is if you hire a consultant or attorney to help you with your application.
➡️ These are the main qualifying criteria required for the applicant, in order to make your application –
– You must be an adult of a minimum 18 years of age.
– You must have been born in a qualifying country.
– You must have at last 12 years of formal education (finished a formal high school in most countries), or equivalent experience as defined in the instructions.
– Your photograph must meet all the specific requirements as stated on the entry page (see below, for the link to the photo instructions page).
➡️ I encourage you to go to the above US State Department website and work through the information and instructions. Many people can manage the application process entirely on their own and do not need additional help, PROVIDED that they can follow the instructions EXACTLY as they are explained in the State Department document.
➡️ When you go to the US State Department website and read all the requirements, PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CAREFULLY READ AND FOLLOW ALL THE REQUIREMENTS, especially with regards to the requirements of the photo. Many applications fail because the applicant does not follow the photograph instructions correctly. The instructions for the photograph can be viewed by using this link.
➡️ If, after reading through all the instructions, you are 100% sure that you do qualify, and you have all your documents and required photographs prepared and ready, then scroll down to the bottom of the main DV-2026 page and click the green “Begin Entry” button to start your online application.
🔴 You should NOT start your application unless you have everything available and ready, to input into the forms and upload as required. 🔴
➡️ After you have read and understood all the instructions, it should then take you no more than an hour or two at the most, to prepare and submit your application/s for an entire family to enter the Green Card Lottery.
➡️ You should always submit your application yourself, unless you absolutely cannot manage it, in which case you should only use a trusted friend or advisor to assist you.
➡️ Once you submit your application, you cannot go back later and correct any errors, and you cannot submit a duplicate application. Therefore it is vital that you make sure you do not make any errors when completing your application.

➡️ Due to the thousands of last-minute entries that are always submitted during the last few days of the application period, there is a chance that the State Department Diversity Visa Lottery application web page could crash, freeze, or become sluggish during this period. To be sure that you can get your application filed without any such problems, file your application early, preferably at least a week before the deadline ends.
➡️ Finally – remember that your Green Card Coach is a past Green Card Diversity Visa Lottery winner himself.
